History
New Antioch Bible Fellowship (NABF) was the vision of senior pastor, Dr. Trent D. Hayes, and is the team effort of the Elder Board, Leadership Team and Membership. NABF was established in February 2001 as a not-for-profit organization and had its charter meeting in April 2001 with 15 families serving as charter members. NABF’s first service was held at Diley Middle School in Pickerington, Ohio with approximately 30 individuals in attendance.
NABF began as a denominationally unaffiliated church whose mission was born out of Matthew 28:16-20. NABF’s focus was and still is on reaching out to individuals and families from a biblical perspective in the surrounding community of Pickerington, Reynoldsburg, Canal Winchester and Columbus in order to meet their day to day needs.
The name, New Antioch Bible Fellowship, was derived from many factors:
- Antioch is where followers of Christ were first called Christians.
- Bible connotes that everything is founded upon and operated on the Word of God.
- Fellowship is derived from the Greek word koinonia, which means unity, sociability, and accountability among one another.
NABF moved to its current building, 1415 Lancaster Avenue, in Reynoldsburg in November 2003.
February 2008 NABF became affiliated with the Southern Baptist denomination however our principles remain the same. We continue our mission born out of Matthew 28:16-20 and we continue to operate from the Word of God with our vision statement as our constant goal: “To create a multi-cultural community of believers who love souls, live by God’s Word, lift up biblically based service, learn from one another through fellowship, and lift up passionate praise through worship.”
We are grateful to God for what he has done in the life of NABF over the past twelve years and we humbly anticipate the blessings he will bestow upon us in the years to come.
